This weekend, the National Show Centre in Cloghran, close to Dublin Airport, will host the fifth annual Invasion Dublin event.
The award winning event is a chance for ‘Star Wars’ fans of all ages to see replica sets and props from the films and meet some of the cast from the films.
Some of the actors who will be at Invasion Dublin include Peter Mayhew who plays Chewbacca, the voice of R2D2 Kenny Baker, and Tim Dry and Sean Crawford who played the roles of J’Quille and Yakface respectively.
Members of Ireland’s Emerald Garrison, a ‘Star Wars’ costuming club, will also be attending the event dressed in the costumes of some of the film series’ most renowned characters.
Some of the scheduled events for the weekend include photo opportunities with Peter Mayhew, ‘Star Wars’ quizzes, cosplay competitions and Q&A sessions.
There is also face painting and Force Training to keep children occupied.
The event is open today (Friday) from 5:30pm to 8:30pm and Saturday and Sunday from 10am to 1pm, and 2pm to 5pm on both days.
Tickets are still available starting at €17.50 for adults and €9.50 for kids and can be purchased on the Invasion website.
