From sports stars at the top of their game to grandparents dealing with joint pain cannabidiol (CBD) products are widely used in Ireland for their already proven health benefits. CBD is a non-psychoactive hemp derivative and in late 2016 the Health Service Executive (HSE) confirmed that its use as a health supplement would be free from any legal repercussions as it does not cause any ‘high’. It was this decision that sprouted the idea for Dublin based startup, Mediglas. Eoin Stynes sat down with Mediglas co-founders Robbie Rodriguez and Daniel Richardson to talk about CBD products, business startups and how they have started to capitalise on Ireland’s newest niche market.
