It’s not a bar. It’s not a café. It’s not a hostel either. So what exactly is the Clockwork Door?

Named after the distinctive orange door at 51 Wellington Quay, which leads upstairs to a number of rooms, the Clockwork Door is a place unlike any other in Dublin. A meeting space for like-minded people of all ages and backgrounds, it offers space for people to get together and socialise.

This pay-as-you-go meeting place was opened by Ciaran Hogan along with his wife Orla Hogan having seen similar venues in Russia and Germany. An alcohol-free-zone, if offers board games, unlimited tea, coffee and biscuits and six rooms where people can meet, relax and socialise from 10am to 10pm.

This video takes a look at The Clockwork Door – one of Dublin’s best kept secrets.
