Based in Tallaght, Footee is one of many “footgolf” courses around Ireland. This novelty game has all the basic principles of golf, but as the name suggests you use your feet and a football instead (and of course, the hole is bigger!)

Far cheaper than a normal round of golf, Footee is a fun way and inexpensive activity to get out of the house and spend some time outside with friends or family. It’s suitable for all ages.

You can bring your own football or rent one for just €2. Football or astro-turf boots are recommended.

Jumpzone

Based in Santry and Sandyford, Jumpzone is exactly what it says on the tin, somewhere to go and jump!

Boasting to be the first of its kind in Europe, Jumpzone is a large open space with trampolines on the floor and walls, including a dodgeball court and jump pit.

Whether you go for a birthday party or just with a few friends for a day out, Jumpzone is a great activity which is certain to get your heart-rate up.

At just €12 per hour, which includes grip socks if you don’t have a pair already, it won’t break the bank either.

Zipit

A bit more daring than Footee and Jumpzone,  Zipit is a forest adventure centre based in Tibradden, fifteen minutes drive from Dundrum Town Centre. The second of this franchise in Ireland, Zipit boasts ninety one total activities and will take up to four hours of your time to complete.

Zipit is appropriate for all age groups, with circuits of one to three meters available for kids, to the most advanced at twenty meters for those more daring.

Be warned however, the highest circuit is quite challenging! It’s a hard upper-body workout.

Delta Force Paintball

At €30 per person for entry, equipment and paintballs, Delta Force paintball is on the pricier end of this top five but is an exhilarating way to spend your day.

However, for the price you pay you do get one of the best paintballing experiences you can get in Ireland. They pride themselves on their safety, and the facilities look like they could be on the set of a movie.

You will certainly do a lot of running around so be prepared for that. On the plus side, the adrenaline will take away from the pain of being shot!

Metro Golf

Again on the more expensive side, Metro Golf is an indoor golf centre and bar based in Dublin 4.

Ideal if you are starting a night out, for €17.50 a person you get two hours of golf simulator fun, beers and some nachos and dips.

The golf simulator is extremely high tech and is a lot of fun when having a few drinks with friends. Don’t worry if you’re not a golfer, the relaxed attitude inside the venue makes it fun for everyone, even those who have never swung a club in their life!
