International Day of Persons with Disabilities took place on Friday the 3rd December 2021 and in honor of that Kildare County Council this year prepared a week of events titled Kildare Disability Week which ran from 29th November – 3rd December 2021.
The main event Kildare County Council asked people to take part in was having shops in Naas take part in decorating their windows with the colour purple in honor of the occasion.
Many shops were given paper baubles with slogans such as “Working to make Naas inclusive and fully accessible to all,” and also the logo of Naas access group.

Even Naas’s landmark ‘Naas Big Ball’ was lit up purple for the entire week to get involved in the occasion.
